How a crew launches one Pump coin together, and how its creator fees get split and paid out.
What Potluck is
A crew of 2 to 10 wallets launches one coin on Pump together. Every trade of that coin pays Pump's creator fee, and Pump's own fee-sharing program splits it between the crew's wallets by the shares you chose.
Potluck builds the transactions and shows you the coin as a table: one plate per wallet, sized by its share, with the pot of unpaid fees in the middle. The split itself lives on-chain, in Pump's program, not in Potluck.
Launching a coin
- The coin. A logo, a name (up to 32 characters) and a ticker (up to 10). A description, X link and website are optional.
- The crew. 2 to 10 wallets, each with a share. Shares have to add up to exactly 100%. Any Solana wallet works, including brand-new ones with no SOL.
- A dev buy, if you want one. See the dev buy.
- Review. Potluck shows every wallet, its share and what it gets from each 1 SOL of fees before you sign anything.
- Sign twice, back to back. Step one creates the coin on Pump. Step two locks the crew's split.
Each step is simulated on Solana mainnet before your wallet is asked to sign. If it would fail, you see the reason and nothing is sent. The launch page shows the exact cost up front, measured from that same simulation: rent for the new coin's accounts plus network fees, and the dev buy if you set one.
If step two doesn't go through, or you close the page in between, the planned split is saved. Open the coin's page with the launcher wallet and use Lock the split.
The dev buy
The dev buy is SOL you spend buying your own coin in the same transaction that creates it, so nobody can buy before you. It's optional, up to 50 SOL. As you type the amount, the launch page shows roughly what share of the supply it gets.
The tokens go to the launcher's wallet. They aren't split; only the creator fees are.
The split is permanent
Pump lets a coin's fee split be set once. After that nobody can change it, including the launcher and Potluck. Check every wallet address before you sign step two.
Fees between the two steps
Until the split is locked, Pump pays creator fees to the launcher. That's why the two steps should be signed back to back.
- Without a dev buy, those early fees sit in the coin's pot and go to the launcher when the split locks.
- With a dev buy, they go to the launcher's own Pump creator rewards, which you claim on pump.fun.
Reading a table
- Plates: one per wallet. A bigger plate means a bigger share.
- The pot: creator fees that have built up and haven't been paid out yet. It fills as people trade.
- Price and market cap: read from Pump's bonding curve, or from Birdeye once the coin has graduated.
- Served so far: every payout, read from Pump's own payout records, so each wallet sees exactly what it has been paid.
My plates looks up any wallet and lists every table it has a seat at. The leaderboard ranks crews by the creator fees their coin has earned.
Serving the pot
Fees wait in the pot until someone serves it. Anyone can: a crew member, the launcher or a stranger. One transaction pays every plate its share at once, and whoever serves only pays the network fee.
Pump only pays out once the smallest share is at least what a brand-new Solana wallet needs to exist. Until then the coin's page shows how big the pot has to get. The split keeps working after the coin graduates from Pump to PumpSwap.
Your SOL and your wallet
- Potluck never holds your SOL or your keys. Your wallet signs everything, and the fees go straight from Pump to the crew's wallets.
- The new coin's address is generated in your browser.
- Every transaction is simulated before you sign it.
- Potluck only sends transactions that call Pump. Your wallet may add its own safety check to a transaction; that's fine.
- Potluck adds no fee of its own. You pay Pump's fees and Solana's network fees.
Questions
- Can we change the split later?
- No. Pump allows it to be set once.
- Does every crew member need SOL?
- No. Brand-new, empty wallets can have a plate and get paid.
- Does a crew member have to sign anything?
- No. Only the launcher signs the launch. Anyone can serve the pot later.
- Who gets the dev buy's tokens?
- The launcher's wallet.
- Can I add a coin that wasn't launched here?
- No. Only coins launched through Potluck get a table.
- Is a coin a good investment?
- Potluck can't tell you that. Memecoins are very risky and can go to zero. Only put in what you can afford to lose.
